POPPIES AT THE TOWER - LONDON

2 Days, Saturday - 30/08/2025

From £199.00

Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the end of the 2nd World War

To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, thousands of commemorative poppies will go on display at the iconic Tower of London.

The display will see nearly 30,000 of the original poppies, made for the 2014 installation, ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’, return to the Tower, marking the sacrifices made by so many during the Second World War.

The specially commissioned installation will resemble a ‘wound’ at the heart of the Tower, which was itself bombed during the Blitz. Poppies will pour across the lawn overlooked by the ancient White Tower, where the blood-red flowers will form a crater, with ripples flowing outwards.

IBIS LONDON EXCEL DOCKLANDS
The IBIS London ExCel Docklands boasts a prime waterside location overlooking the Royal Victoria Dock. It is a few minutes walk to the Excel Exhibition centre and there is easy access into Central London.

DAY 2

After breakfast we will head to the Tower of London where entry is included to see the commemorative display of ceramic poppies.

This poignant new installation will see the tower flooded with blood-red poppies in commemoration of the end of World War II. The ceramic poppies will pour across the lawn in front of the White Tower.

Featuring almost 30,000 poppies that were originally created for the Tower’s 2014 installation, ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red‘. On loan from the Imperial War Museum; the poppies are returning to their original home, and will form a crater to resemble a wound at the heart of the Tower – which itself was bombed during the Blitz.
The specially commissioned installation will create a space for visitors to remember and reflect on the sacrifices made by so many during the Second World War.
